In a much-anticipated announcement, Khloe Kardashian has finally shared the name of her and Tristan Thompson’s second child together, a baby boy named Tatum.
The revelation came during the season three premiere of “The Kardashians” on May 25, where Kardashian expressed the challenges associated with naming a person, stating, “Naming a human is really hard.”
Kardashian, who is also a mother to 5-year-old daughter True with Thompson, mentioned last month that they decided to continue the tradition of names starting with “T” for their children.
Despite this connection through initials, Kardashian opened up about feeling a different bond with Tatum compared to her experience with True, attributing this difference to the surrogacy process.
She described it as an incredibly surreal experience, saying, “It’s a mindf–k. It’s really the weirdest thing.”
The decision to wait nearly a year before announcing Tatum’s name was not made lightly.
Kardashian, 38, admitted that she needed time to build a connection with her son, saying, “I wanted to meet him and feel him out a little bit.”
She revealed on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” that initially, Tatum didn’t have a name and that she had been waiting for the right moment, which coincided with the premiere of their family show.
Describing her son affectionately as “a little chunk,” Kardashian expressed her contentment with Tatum just the way he is.
Interestingly, Kim Kardashian remarked on Tatum’s resemblance to their brother Rob Kardashian, highlighting the strong family genes.
Despite Thompson’s hopes for reconciliation, Kardashian remains firm in her decision to not rekindle their romantic relationship.
She candidly shared in an April teaser for their show, “but no.
No chances.”
This stance was echoed by sources close to Kardashian, who confirmed that the arrival of their son did not lead to a reunion between the two.
The backdrop to Tatum’s conception is complex, occurring just days before Kardashian learned of Thompson’s involvement with Maralee Nichols, who was also pregnant with his child at the time.
This scandal influenced Kardashian’s decision to keep her second pregnancy private, aiming to protect her surrogate’s privacy and her own mental well-being amidst public scrutiny.
Despite their romantic incompatibility, Kardashian praised Thompson’s qualities as a father during an ABC News interview with Robin Roberts, noting, “He’s just not the guy for me.”
Their evolving relationship and co-parenting dynamics will be further explored in the newest season of “The Kardashians,” offering viewers a glimpse into their lives post-split.
